Reflections on the world

This is just my own feelings and opinions and is not trying to direct at any groups

I am feeling very discouraged at what is happening around the world.  There is war, famine, violence across many parts of the world.  People are complaining about the government and corporations that are in power.  Young people seem to be the victim, yet they are quick to judge and blame.  Many of them are living a double standard.  Let's say they are protesting against corporations inflicting harm on the environment.  They are just enjoying all the luxuries in life anyway.  The church around me just serves and cater to the middle class people.  How about the lower class and people in poverty?  How about people who are busy with life and can't worship on the weekends?  How about people with mental illness?  How about people with deep brokenness?  How about the marginal and the despised?

As I am typing, I am seeing myself as one of those young people are are complaining.  I want to be as environmentally friendly as possible, but I see that I fall way short.  I hate the corporations because I envy the profits they make and the power the have.  I imagined if I work inside a corporation, I would just keep my mouth shut.  I am enjoying many luxuries in life anyway.  As I am complaining about how I am serving people who are doing well, I am one of those people anyway.  I feel weak more because of my income.  Do I want to serve the poor, marginalized, despised...  because of my own ego?  so I don't have to compare with the middle and upper class people?  or I am fulfilling the great commission.

How about I humble myself and obey where God is doing His work...

Why am I doing what I am doing?

If we are not disciple makers and we are clearly not being agents of change in this world – then “WHY” are we really doing this?  Our students don’t need caregivers or glorified babysitters.  They are not looking for a “ROCK STAR” youth communicator or the next flashy program.
